slef: On the page you link to, there is an e-mail from 2006 clearly stating that you are allowed to run Flash on FreeBSD:

"These changes mean that
IF you as an end-user want to install on a platform that we don't
officially support in the system requirements AND you can get it to
work AND you understand that we won't provide technical support for
your efforts -- you can freely install the player without being in
violation of the EULA. This does not impact the free distribution
license, which still lists 'authorized OS' "

And if you click through from that freebsd ports page, you get to an email from Adobe Support shown at which explains "it is clearly stated on the End User License Agreement, the only authorized operating systems where you may download and install Flash Player" - in other words, you don't have a copyright license, which means you can't legally run it on FreeBSD.

cchd, I believe there is a FreeBSD flash port here:

jolt 3/18/09 1:38PM

I've not been able to use Flash since Adobe took over Macromedia five years ago and delicensed it for FreeBSD machines. It was difficult when I looked at your site and it said I needed Flash to view the charts!

I suggest 85% of browsers have operational Flash, not the Macromedia-reported 98%.
